Willow Dean Burns Hicks Owens, 67, of Aledo, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Aledo Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A private service will be held at a later date. Bewley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Aledo, is caring for the arrangements.
She was born October 3, 1947, in Shreveport, Louisiana, the daughter of Luther Moore and Willow Mae Shelton Burns. She married Thomas Edward Hicks on September 8, 1965, in Hawghton, Louisiana.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed genealogy, crocheting, arts and crafts and cooking; loving and spoiling her kids and grandkids.
Those left to honor her memory include her son, Thomas E. Hicks II of Joy, IL; daughters, Donna (Steven) Beavers of New Boston, IL and Deanna (Rick Bewley) Minteer of Keithsburg, IL; step-son, James Daniel Owens and his two children, of Alaska; grandchildren, Sean (Brandi Epperson) Baker, Jason Gross Minteer, Jacob Cordell Hicks, Joshua Dean Hicks, Kirk D. Minteer II and Gavin S. Minteer, and Rick Bewley’s children, Zachary, Jacob and Kayla; two great grandchildren, Liam Ainsley Grayson Pierce – Gross Minteer and Hunter James Hicks; one brother, William Howard “Bill” Burns of Dubberly, LA; several nieces and nephews; and many other adopted grandkids throughout the community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1987, one brother, Clemmie Jordan Burns, one sister, Betty Jean Lodato, two nieces and two nephews.
